  • Apply NOW to be an Equalization Member to Annual Conference!

    We hope that many of you, including youth (ages 12 to 17) and young adults (ages 18 to 30) will consider applying to serve as an Equalization Member to UNY's Annual Conference, June 1-3, 2017 at the OnCenter in Syracuse. Equalization Members are voting members of the Annual Conference. You must be a member of your church and agree to attend all sessions of the Annual Conference, from Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon. Please complete the application (found at Resources at the top of the home page of this website; then choose Equalization Member to Annual Conference), have it signed by your pastor and submit it by mail or email to the District office by Monday, March 6, 2017. If you have questions, please call or email the District office.

    Our friends at Panama and Sinclairville:Park United Methodist Churches have collaborated to create an original daily devotional book for Lent. Many thanks to the members of Park and Panama UMCs who took part in creating this special resource for all of us to use.

  • Youth - Apply Now for Mission Scholarship!

    United Methodist youth ages 12 to 18 are eligible to apply for The Daniel Feather Memorial Fund. a scholarship that supports "hands-on" mission projects and trips. The Cornerstone District of the United Methodist Church is located in the Southwest corner of New York State. 

The District encompasses all of Chautauqua County, Cattaraugus County and part of Allegany County. There are 72 churches on the district.

The Cornerstone District is one of the twelve Districts in the Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our resident Bishop is Mark J. Webb. 

Our Vision: To live the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places.

Our Purpose: Growing in our relationship with God, Being the body of Christ within the world, and Living in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ by:

•    Engaging, equipping and empowering local churches to be in ministry with and to our Global Neighborhood;
•    Encouraging and developing leadership within the laity and clergy that is diverse yet united by our love for Christ; and
•    Building relationships with our neighbors, particularly with those who have been disenfranchised by mainstream society.
